‘The Great Edwardians’
October 18, 2014: 10:30
St Gabriel’s Church, Warwick Square, Pimlico
London SW1V 2AD

Following the huge success of our last public ‘come-and-sing’ workshop (attended by nearly 100 singers), we are delighted to announce that the next workshop will take place on October 18, 2014 in the beautiful St Gabriel’s Church in Pimlico, conducted by Ralph Allwood. These workshops are becoming very popular, incorporating some serious music-making within a light-hearted and friendly atmosphere. All ages and abilities are welcome, regardless of experience. Typically, our workshops are attended by a mix of beginners and very experienced singers. The repertoire for this workshop will include some of the very finest pieces in the choral repertoire, by three of the most well-known composers from the ‘Edwardian’ era: Sir Charles Hubert Hastings Parry, Sir Charles Villiers Stanford and Sir Edward Elgar. We will be joined by members of the Rodolfus Choir, who will also sing some of the solo sections in the programme.

Full Programme:

Elgar: Great is the Lord
Stanford: For lo I raise up
Parry: I was Glad
Elgar: Light of the World
Stanford: Beati quorum via
Parry: Hear my words
