Rodolfus give two performances of Bach's B minor mass at prestigious UK festivals

This summer, the choir is greatly looking forward to singing two performances of J.S. Bach's Mass in B minor. The first will be as part of the Hereford Three Choirs Festival in the glorious setting of Tewkesbury Abbey, 2.30pm Monday 10 August. Ralph Allwood, Precentor of Eton College and founder of the Rodolfus Choir, will conduct period ensemble the Corelli Orchestra. Elizabeth Weisberg, Polly May, Ben Johnson and James Oldfield comprise a quartet of some of the most promising vocal talent of the moment.

Then at 7.30pm on Saturday 5 September, the choir will be opening the Ripon International Festival, singing the B minor mass with the Orchestra of Opera North. The performance, in the magnificent Ripon Cathedral, will be conducted by Janusz Piotrowicz, artistic director and co-founder of the festival; the soloists are Erica Eloff, Wendy Dawn Thompson, Ben Johnson and Krzysztof Szumanski.

The Choir is delighted to be singing at these prestigious festivals. The Hereford Box Office can be reached on 0845 6521823. Tickets will be available by phone from May, although they will be purchasable online through the festival's website from Friday 10 April.
